Mini Update

My favour boxes have arrived!!  

I've yet to hear the damage to my wallet, but I believe it was under au$300 including postage for 400 boxes.  The paper isn't as think as I would like it to be.  It's more paper than cardboard.  But it is a vibrant red and gold so that's good enough I suppose.

The 'carriage poles' and flat cardboard boxes - still wrapped - have been sitting on my desk at work and colleagues have come up to ask what it is.  They're obviously a nosey bunch. 

And the Chinese taobao website is great - when you buy an item you don't immediately pay for it.  It is held by taobao the seller posts you the item and if you're satisfied with it, you tell taobao to pay the seller.  How cool is that??

Ant and I need a joint email address for our RSVP's.  Initially we thought of nan24ant@gmail.com because the 24th will be our wedding date.  However his parents have said there can't be a '4' because it's 'death' in Chinese.  Such a silly thing to be worried about, considering it's our wedding date and is going to be for life!!

Anyway so now we have to come up with something suitable or else it will be 'nanwedsant@gmail.com' which makes me want to puke just to think about!  I've thought of nanant.yam@gmail.com which I think is quite cute but won't exactly be true because I don't tend to take his last name.  And his parents might object because we're not married yet and thus I can't have 'yam' as my last name.

Who knows.

The next item on the list is the wedding invite.  I have to wait till I see Ant so that I can take the card off him and post it to the relatives in China to price.

And I have yet to decide on the dress and then order it.  There's time - it's not like there's only 5 months left.  Oh wait, it is :o)
